Hello!

Hello and welcome! My name is Jerrell Everett and I’m so happy you’re here. I’m so excited to be blogging again after taking a year off after my last baby was born. I spent days trying to decide what the first post in this brand new space should be and I finally decided that the best way to start things off would be to introduce myself and share a bunch of fun, and possibly random, information about myself.

Let’s start with the basics: I’m 33 years old. I’ve been married to my husband Sam for five years (next week) and we have three daughters. Harper Elizabeth is 4, Avery Jean is 2.5 and Ella James is 1. Sam and I were both born and raised in Virginia, but we’ve been living in Orlando, FL for the last two years. One of us adapted quickly to the tropical weather, lizard and love bugs. I’m still working on it. I miss the Virginia mountains and the way the air smells on a crisp Fall morning. But most of all, I miss my family. My parents, grandmother, brother, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nearly all of my friends are back in VA living their lives without us and it’s hard. Thankfully, I believe in a God who has a perfect plan for our lives and I trust that there’s a reason He has us here right now, even if I don’t understand (or like) it.

I’ve been growing, birthing and raising babies for four years straight so my social life and hobbies took a major hit, but I’m finally getting back to my old self again. “Old me plus three” as I like to say. So what do I like to do during the one hour of free time I have each night? Read! I’m a voracious reader. I go through ebbs and flows with my reading life where I’ll read five books one month and then none the next, but I know I’ll get more consistent as my girls grow and become more independent. I obviously love to write and am thrilled to be doing it regularly again. As of now, I wake up at 6am every morning to write. My other hobbies include shopping, watching Downton Abbey and going to Disney World.

On this blog, you’ll find essays on motherhood, faith, and really anything I’m “chewing on” in my life. You’ll also find product reviews (you wouldn’t believe how many baby/toddler products I’ve tried in the last four years), tips on traveling with littles, gift guides, and lots of other “mommy blog” posts. I will also be posting book reviews in my Book Club and Baby Book Club posts.
